(RedState) – Regardless of one’s political persuasion or complete lack thereof, nearly everyone in America has to be aware by now that Joe Biden’s love affair with ice cream is the stuff of steamy romance novels.
Give Joe a few minutes alone in public and he’s likely to wander off, only to return with an ice cream cone the size of your leg, make a beeline to the nearest television camera, and promptly proceed to shove his ice cream cone down his throat faster than you can say, “Damn, Joe – that’s a big-ass ice cream cone.”
So, as mankind continues the quest of attempting to figure out what goes on inside the head of Joe Biden – shudder at the thought – one thing is clear: Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. loves ice cream – perhaps more than life, itself. Or, is there more to it than that?
Check it out:
On April 21, 2020, Daily Caller reported that Biden’s presidential campaign had spent nearly $11,000 on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s favorite ice cream – over which, Madam Speaker has come under fire after showing off a freezer-full of ice cream in an interview. (We’ll do Nancy and her ice cream in a bit. Phrasing?)
According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Biden’s campaign has spent $10,600 on Pelosi’s favorite ice cream between May 2019 and March 2020. The description for the ice cream in the FEC filing says “donor gifts.” The Daily Caller contacted the Biden campaign to ask about the gifts but did not immediately receive a response. [Or ever.]
Much ado about nothing? Maybe, but let’s continue.
Several prominent Republicans have picked up on IceCreamGate – among them, Donald Jump Jr., who recently posted his thoughts on social media.
“It all makes sense now…” wrote DTJ, during the 2020 general election campaign, along with a snippet about how “ice cream is far more effective and safe than Prozac for people with dementia.”

It’s all coming together, folks. I actually checked this out myself because I figured it would be ripe for a fact check, but seems to check out and explains everything perfectly.
So here’s the thing. That snippet was from an Alzheimer’s Association “Caregivers Tips & Tools” publication, titled “The Power of Ice Cream.”
Written by Luciana Cramer, Educator, and Care Specialist , to Trump Jr.’s point, it seems to make sense. Excerpts:
We all have good days and bad days. We all have lived through moments of increased stress and frustration , when our patience and wisdom seem tested to the limit. And we all have developed our own coping skills on how to deal with these occasions, relieve the stress and dissipate the frustration.
Most people will use a combination of techniques depending on the kind and duration of the stressors they are facing. We have the ability to select our own coping strategies . We have that power. This changes when we develop dementia .
When a brain is affected by dementia it has diminished capabilities to process information . A person with dementia is likely to be overwhelmed by everyday activities , things that prior to the onset of dementia may have even been pleasurable … all kinds of activities, even ones considered routine before dementia, may be stressful and frustrating now.
[W]hen frustrated, a person with dementia may get angry, agitated … people with dementia cannot control their reactions to feelings of frustration , so they will manifest in some form, most likely through a behavior that they do not have the cognitive skills to choose.
And then it gets even better.
And then, ice cream! Yes, ice cream. It takes all of your worries away . It is soothing and delicious, and personable: everyone has a favorite flavor! Ice cream brings people with dementia to happier, warmer times when the treat was shared with friends and loved ones on special, joyous occasions. Ice cream has the power to immediately elicit soothing feelings at the very first taste of a single spoon-full.
It erases all the negative feelings related to the frustration and continues to stimulate pleasure receptors in the brain with every new scoop . And dementia allows one to fully enjoy the treat, with no concerns for calories, weight gain, or dietary needs, completely guilt-free!
For people with dementia, ice cream is far more effective and safe than Prozac, or any other “happy” drug on the market!
I’m not sure where I come down on this one. If not for the Alzheimer’s Association report, I was inclined to dismiss it as somewhere between a nothingburger and a silly effort to connects dots that aren’t connectable. Now, I dunno. If nothing else, it’s awfully coincidental, given that Biden’s fixation with ice is beyond any “ice cream thing” I’ve ever seen.
Speaking of beyond anything I’ve ever seen, as I suggested at the top, Nancy Pelosi and her own apparent fixation on ice cream.
Who could forget this classic Pelosi moment, when CBS “The Late Late Show” host James Corden asked BOTOX Nan to show off something in her home, so she excitedly – make that “giddily” – showed off her very impressive supply of very expensive ice cream in the very impressive freezer of her very expensive refrigerator.
Democrats. As much as we loathe what they are trying to do to the country we so love, at least they’re good for a laugh – at their own expense – every once in a while.
